  • Promo Edition 45-style Compact Disc (2018 Mix/Master)
Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

I made a very limited amount of these 45-style vinyl CD-Rs that contain the 2018 mix & mastered version of Blue Mirror (the demo version). Most copies have been distributed to friends, and only a handful remain. Handmade packaging, full color jacket and insert w/ lyrics.
This is the unofficial "finished" version of Blue Mirror. Changes to the mix and a new master is what resulted in the 2020 released final version. This is a unique collectors item and once they are gone, they are gone for good.

Go Alone 06:06
aching, swelling in my head i've felt this way before hollow, the place within the shield that is my chest you win i will hide beneath the tide and all will simply fade away i've been to this place before and letting go is never as difficult as holding on for me not for me so i let go

I Am You 05:51
you take the shape of the space you're in fear of going slow fear of letting go fear of no control fear of the unknown there's nothing new about fear that's not the reason you're here when you're away you will see when you return you'll believe you fear you
5.
Further/Give 02:43
will you allow me to sink when i bring myself to the brink?
6.
Unwanted 05:37
i can't recall the day we slipped when we were there (and now we're falling) i don't think we understand just who we are (but we pretend) i won't give into my vice but then i did (and now i'm wishing) i can't look away this time i tried but something has me it's not all so bad, i'd say but what am i missing? (the whole picture) i don't wish that i weren't here no, but sometimes (i wish you were) i don't mean the things i say i don't know why (but i just say them) i think that we'll be just fine as long as we just ignore it and now i realize you and i are just the same we needed this and so we came to light today i found my place this place is no escape you know i can't help the way i'm so selfish there are things we could not say there's no reason to blame oh, it's just a shame we can't help it and when no one is around and you think you're safe and sound you're really just alone do you want this?
7.
No Wake 07:01
we don't make sense when we speak their world is a thought, so we think the water is clean, and it heals dissolving your thoughts and your feels whatever you're told, it's not true there's nobody here beside you is this where it ends or begins? it felt like a dream i don't know what it was (not aware of losing anything) let go of me let go because (nothing here, only self, empty) nowhere to reach nothing to share (it's not the way that this should be) i am with you but are you in there? where? i said all you needed to hear there's no way to start over here i pushed all my sour thoughts away i know where i will be someday this is a dream of a fate
8.
Erasure 09:58
awake laying awake and thinking i can take it are we okay? i do feel lost sometimes you must understand take what you can get don't you have enough to pretend? can we take this to the end and then still survive? hear them i can't believe it my heart is aching and i've lost a little more than just a lot but not all embrace the pain for years you've kept surrender all the rest resist, reset deep end no one to befriend tell me, on what will it depend when time is not our friend it is a tease what now? what can i do now? i know for some it's just too late for those who could not wait this makes me dizzy against the grain, there's nothing left be one with those at rest reflect, rest erase the pain from those who've left relinquish your regrets resist, reset and know it's not too late

Tomorrow 01:23

about

"Listen to it on a long winter walk and feel yourself sink deeper into the impending gray of December's chill as waves of ambient sonic ennui ebb and flow.” - Revolver Magazine

"Folian thrives in the quiet moments. Spacey guitars and relaxed vocals set the mood, occasionally giving way to thunderous swells of distorted guitars and emotional screams." - Decibel Magazine

“Jesu, 40 Watt Sun and Kayo Dot fans should just hit play already. Portland's Folian knows how to make a bummer sound extremely pretty, with spacious atmospheres and fuzzy guitar tones; adventurous songwriting in search of deeper meaning.” - NPR Music

"Fylstra sculpts an all-encompassing sound that feels like standing on a Gothic mountainside in the freezing cold wind." - Gigwise

"Blue Mirror is the reverb-dripping, psychotropic adventure Folian has crafted for you to melt in and let yourself drift through." - Everything Is Noise

"The well-balanced record envelops the listener on every level: compositionally, thematically, and emotionally." - IDIOTEQ

“Fylstra floats through restrained but powerful guitar melodies that feel poised to snake right into listeners’ psyches. The listening experience feels like an infusion of the feel of a gentle acceptance of creeping nature.” - Captured Howls

“From the first frigid notes of Folian's debut full length, "Blue Mirror", you find yourself alone, transported to a cold, foggy waterfront. The location is familiar to you, but different; changed. The sand isn't as soft, the water isn't nearly as inviting, and the emotions you've always associated with it have been replaced by something that leaves you with more questions than answers. Every soft-sung lyric and crooning riff begs the question, 'how did we get here and can we ever go back?', until you find yourself succumbing to its icy depths.”
- Dylan Garrett Smith (artist/printmaker)
